The Postgraduate Program in Electrical Engineering at UNIFEI is part of the National Institute of Science and Technology in Electrical Energy – INERGE, along with UFJF, UFSJ, UFRJ, and UFF. INERGE, headquartered in Juiz de Fora, is the only national research institute in the field of Electrical Engineering and its mission is to be an international center of excellence in research, development, technology, and innovation in the electrical energy sector.

In addition to institutional agreements, there are also collaboration agreements between faculty members on joint projects and co-supervision with various institutions, notably ITA, INATEL, UNICAMP, USP, UFJF, and
UFRJ.

However, most collaborations and joint projects between professors and other institutions do not require a formal partnership agreement.
